For the love of wine
Derthona Wines was founded in 2000 and is owned and operated by Giorgio Damiani and Anna Di Carlo. The company originated with Giorgio deciding to import wine from his hometown of Tortona in Piemonte. The name Derthona is the original Latin name for Tortona. This region is famous for the traditional Barbera wine, as well as the world-renowned Barolo.
Today, we have a small portfolio of red, white and rose wines from four Italian producers. Our wines have been chosen not only for their quality and pricing, but especially for the commitment of their producers to the love of traditional wine-making.
Cantine Lenotti, located in Bardolino on the shores of Lago di Garda, is a modestly sized enterprise with roots going back to the turn of the 19th century.
Tenuta Santini originated in 1963, when senior family members — previously working as share-croppers — purchased the fields they had worked on in the town of Vinci – birthplace of Leonardo DaVinci.
Vignaioli del Tortonese SCA is one of the oldest wine cooperatives in Italy. Formed in 1931, as “La Cantina Sociale di Tortona,” it brought together 28 wine producers and grape farmers to strengthen the wine-making traditions of the region.
Vigne Monache di Biasco Rita is in Manduria, the area famous for Primitivo and is the source of the latest addition to our portfolio. Rita Biasco heads this family run boutique winery.
