About IGT Veneto Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon is a grape variety that originated in France and spread throughout the world. It was the first grape to have its DNA profile established, when in 1997 it was discovered that it was a cross between Cabernet Franc (red) and Sauvignon Blanc (white).
In Italy, Cabernet Sauvignon has a long history, first introduced in the Piedmont region in the early 1800’s. In terms of official Italian recognition, Cabernet Sauvignon is now permitted in many IGT regions, including Veneto.
Lenotti’s “Pramonte” Collezione is produced in limited quantity using grapes from a vineyard of the same name — “La Pra” — situated on the eastern shores of Lake Garda.
This wine is a deep ruby red and it has an unusually delicate aroma for a Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a concentrated fruity and slightly spicy character, with hints of black currant, ripe cherries and almond. It is a truly well-rounded and pleasant wine that will please all who appreciate Cabernet Sauvignons.
